The summer of 2001 was very exciting!
Construction of the new
Dojo started in June, and I must say it was the hottest time of the year...90
degrees almost all summer long! The start of the building project started
out with God's blessings! Let me explain. We started looking into our building
plans and trying to figure out how we were going to best build the Dojo.
We knew we could not afford to have a contractor do it because the money
we had would not cover the cost of a professional builder. Therefore, we
were going to build it ourselves...the "instructors and students".
Well, it just so happens the owner of Craftsman Homes an TM Electric CO, sons TJ and Daniel, work out with us at the Dojo. His name is Thomas Muck and he is a New Construction and Electrician by trade. His company can be contacted at 740-681-9569.
God blessed this school by having Tom lead us in the building of this school. Tom took off a whole month of work to help build this school for the kids! He could never know how much we thank him for his ongoing efforts. God will surely bless him and his family.
As the building began, the students of Ryukyu, the Deacons of Grace Bible Church, and Members of the Franklin County Sheriff's Department came to the school raising on a Saturday morning in June, and I will say it was a long and HOT day! They worked hard all day and the roof went up, and we had a great time.
Then over the next seven months
the students and instructors worked on the Dojo with Tom's guidance, and
we now have a beautiful Dojo. God has led so many to help in this project
with their skills and donations. If it were not for God's gifts, we would
never have come so far.
Here
are some photos of the construction as it proceeded.

Everybody needs a break
and under a tree is a good place for lunch.
Even the kids helped out on this day.
